How to Score the Best Shopping Deals for Baby

Early on in my pregnancy, I became obsessed (and I still am) with finding the best deals for baby supplies. Here are some of my favorite ways to save.

Store Discounts

  • H&M: 20%-25% off H&M Member deals for baby clothing and decor

  • Target: 20% off Target Circle Offers and clearance section for baby clothing

  • Burts Bees Baby: 30%-40% off seasonal sales for burp cloths, washcloths, and baby clothing

  • Goumi Kids: Summer Warehouse Sale for up to 60% off onesies, gowns, rompers, etc., and other seasonal flash sales

  • Bonsie: Outlet page for heavily discounted skin-to-skin onesies

  • Gap & Old Navy: 30%-40% off sales on already discounted prices

  • Amazon: Prime Day and Lightning Deals on baby gear including Honest Co. Wipes, Muslin Burp Clothes, and Muslin Bath Towels

  • Newton Baby: 20% off around seasonal holidays (President’s Day, 4th of July, Black Friday, etc.) on mattresses and mattress covers

  • Snuggle Me: Periodic 30% off sales on infant loungers and lounge covers

  • Nordstrom: Anniversary Sale for deals on UppaBaby strollers, Maxi-Cosi, and other bigger baby gear

Registry Gifts & Completion Discounts

  • Registry Gift Boxes from Babylist, Target, and Amazon: Worth any shipping fee required — you’ll get bottles, pacifiers, swaddles, onesies, and coupons for future purchases

  • Registry Completion Discounts: This is my biggest hack. Our primary registry and the one we shared with friends and family was through Babylist. However, I also created registries at Target and Amazon to get the free registry gift boxes and also qualify for the registry completion discounts (discounts sent 8 weeks before the baby’s due date to help you buy everything you didn’t get from your baby shower or your registry).

    • Amazon Baby Registry — Discount: 15%. Can order multiple times with the completion discount but the item must be added to your baby registry and then added to your cart (only items sold through Amazon qualify for the discount now). Every time I need to order something for our baby, I add it to the registry to get the discount applied.

    • Target Baby Registry - Discount: 15%. Redeemable twice.

    • Babylist Registry - Discount: 15%. Redeemable once.

  • Here are my tips on how to maximize the registry completion discounts:

    • Be strategic. Find out what you can only get from certain sites and where you can get the biggest savings (and create a checklist).

      • There are Babylist Exclusive colors, products, and bundles you can only get from Babylist

      • There are some products that the discount will only apply on certain sites (e.g., discount for Lovevery Play Gym only works on Babylist and discount for UppaBaby Vista V2 Stroller only works on Amazon).

    • Look to layer additional discounts.

      • If you have a Target Redcard, you get an extra 5% off after the 15% off registry completion discount. They also have Target Circle Offers (e.g., 10% off Skip Hop products, 20% off baby. bottles and breastfeeding accessories) that you can combine with these other discounts.

      • On Amazon Prime Day, add products to your registry to get the 15% off registry completion discount on top of the already discounted price (if applicable — for example, this worked for our Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light + Sheet Set).
