When Your 2-Year-Old Won’t Eat Breakfast…
Life with a 2-year-old and a 7-week-old is just chaos. But we’re starting to get our bearings, and starting to gain our confidence to leave the house and do things as a family of four. However, mornings with Margot have been delegated to Kevin as I’m usually up nights and early mornings to feed Wyatt. As with all toddlers, Margot has become more particular and more demanding, and her current obsession for breakfast is smoothies. Specifically, making them, and not necessarily drinking them. This has led to her taking only a few sips, defaulting to snacks, and/or not eating much before daycare.
To make things easier for Kevin in the early hours, and more exciting for Margot, I decided to make a breakfast menu with 2 options every day. Cooked up by Monster Foodies, Chef Cookie and Chef Gonger (if you watch Sesame Street, you know), this has been wildly successful. She looks forward to it every morning to the point where we’re going on week 2 of breakfast menus. Made on Canva using free graphics, one of her favorite parts is the cartoon girl I chose to represent her. Below you’ll find some of her sample menus—the main dish is usually eggs, Veggies Made Great muffins, or mini pancakes with some sort of fruit side.
