Our Wedding in Oceanside, CA

Last September, Kevin and I got married locally at one of our favorite spots, Goat Hill Park. After going back and forth about a destination wedding in Mexico or Palm Springs for the first few months after we got engaged, we finally secured our venue in mid-January. That left ~9 months to plan the whole thing. 2022 was the year of weddings so it was especially challenging to find an available wedding planner (ours was originally booked for our date), photographer (I reached out to about 15), and hair and makeup for my small bridal party.

I’m so happy with how everything turned out, and how we were able to make it very personal with our own touches. It came together beautifully and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing planner and vendors.

For our invitations and signage, we took a semi-DIY approach, using our available resources. Kevin’s best man had a friend help us create a logo that we used across all wedding assets (including pint glass party favors). Once we had this, I asked a colleague to design our invitations and signage. I got our invitations printed from Czar Press and our signage printed from Fast Signs in Vista. My dad made the bases for our signs, and we had another friend print a vinyl sticker for the bathroom sign. For any tabletop signage, I used fluted frames I found at Target. Overall, we were able to save in this area while also making it feel really personalized.
